Not yet. Course isn't ready for points, IMO. Lots more work needs to be done first.

(Fun)draiser tourney, yes, by all means. Thanks Trent!

bobka..think about that statement please..then retract it...lol JK but really

pdga = ratings just as relevant to people then points in some cases

it is a Fun draising event..so why not attract more people..already extra 10 bucks for pdga fee...so why not give the peeps more for their buck = points

I have played nefa events on far worse conditioned courses and they were more mature then Coggs even

another event for Ma residents blah blah

Trenton is also the nefa state rep for nefa..so not bad to help with his role on that front

I doubt many go if ya don't point HO this thing

maybe then nefa could/would/should kick coggs some stuff to help draw..membership CTP(new area to nefa IMO would help them out..maybe make it only to non nefa members) Vibram would then be involved as they are series sponsors..extra swag to attract people

the course can handle it with 72...for sure IMO

thinnnk about it

NEFA does not offer insurance, nor should they. This is the best way to get cheap insurance. I know the PDGA will scare some people off but it will also draw some people in.

How is parking for 72 players going to be resolved?

Actually I don't play for points nor ratings, so it doesn't matter on my end.

It's all about kicking the course's azzzz for me.

Sure, I'll taxi some guys to and fro with the van, no problem.

We are going to encourage carpooling, park in the street and up near holes 9-12. Across the street or down in Kmart are also possibilities

The guys that I know that will play can park in my driveway and we can carpool I got room for 4-5 cars only a mile away from the gate. NEFA would be awesome!!!! Need all the points I can get!! We should make up some Coggs disc golf shirts/disc's or somthing, get the name out there... Trent im willing to help day of or whatever you need. Lets make this nice so people will come play the course and beat it down. the more play that it gets the better it will mature into a really nice course.. Just started playing this past Oct and ive played all the courses around these parts. I love the layout at Coggs it just needs to be beaten in!!!

I have the week before the tournament off and will be up at coggs doing weedwacking. I should be up there probably two times that week.

Not trying to start anything.... BUT,

Why is this a Pdga thing? this place isn't even tourney ready, per se....

I've got some new guys that would like to play and donate to the cause, but an extra $10 out of their pockets just to show up? Any extra $$ should go directly to the course, IMO.

That's what the whole tourney is about.

thanks for any input.... jimbob

I have applied for the Competition Endowment Program to hopefully avoid the additional $10 fee. PDGA is the easiest way to get insurance. We arent covered if something happens by the cities insurance.

We have been approved, however the non member fee is $5 now not $10 so that is good!

Coggs is a great fit for the "developmental area" CEP. Nice job getting that approved.

This is a spot where I think NEFA could do some real good for a course. As a non-profit, NEFA could be the nominal charity that qualifies the tournament to be a charity event in the CEP instead of a developmental area. As a charity event, all non-member fees are waived (instead of reduced to $5) and the fees that would go to the PDGA ($2 per player) are donated to the charity instead of being sent to the PDGA. NEFA's role would be as a middle man...take in the funds as a donation, then turn around and donate them directly back to the course as a grant or whatever it needs to be called. Everybody wins.

This event is definitely on my radar since this place has become more or less the go-to course to get a casual round or two in when I visit my folks, so I'd love to support it. That it's PDGA just makes it more enticing (see, PDGA is a draw ;)).

Thank you Josh. This was kind of a last minute thing. I wanted to help more with Coggs but didnt have the time necessary to do it. Speaking with Jeff and seeing the pads being put in a fundraising event was just a natural fit. Next year we will be running a NEFA event here so hopefully we can get the charity CEP
